WHAT I CAN HELP WITH...
With experience of a wide range of breeds, and a background in obedience training and behaviour modification, I can help you with a variety of problems you may be having with your show dogs, as well as provide general advice on how to slicken up your performance in the show ring!

I can help you and your dogs with:
-
Stacking problems
-
Fidgety dogs
-
Hesitant movement
-
Dogs who have lost their show-ring vivacity
-
First-time handlers with a new show dog
-
Experienced handlers with a difficult show dog
-
Nervousness in the show-ring
-
Dogs who are over-excitable
-
and MANY other difficulties you may be experiencing!
I don't train your dog for you; I coach you in training your dog, how to work with them, and how to show them to their best advantage.
Whilst there are a huge number of "dog" problems I can help with, I also help handlers who get nervous, stressed, or anxious when in the ring, all of which will affect their dogs performance!

I can help you with:
-
Handling nerves
-
Show-ring anxiety
-
Lack of confidence
-
Coping with stress in the ring
-
Ways in which you can become a more confident and assertive handler.
ONE TO ONE CLINICS
My one to one clinics remain exceptionally popular - with many people travelling for hours to attend!
For those who prefer one-to-one help, these sessions give an opportunity to examine your handling skills, improve & hone them, to get the best from your dog on a quiet, one to one basis. Great for general handling advice, or to target specific problems, all within a show-style environment! Each session lasts up to 30 minutes, however sessions may be shorter depending on your dog’s individual progression and attention span. I will fit as much into the session as possible and allow for comfort breaks for your dog too – keeping it short, sharp and enjoyable. Don't be fooled - we can takle a LOT in 30 minutes, and I don't recommend a longer session for one dog, as these are intense training sessions.

One to one clinics are currently priced at £48 per dog and handler per session (one handler may bring up to two dogs to work with), with a small discount for returning clients.

My one to one clinics are usually undertaken in South Lanarkshire, which is easily accessible from most areas of Central Scotland and the North of England. Many handlers have travelled significant distances to come for help and advice!

GROUP TRAINING SESSIONS
Whilst one to one clinics allow you to focus entirely on your dog and any problems you may be having, small group training sessions are also available. These allow handlers to put into practice all they have picked up from a one to one, in a more "show-like" atmosphere with the added distraction of other dogs.

I carefully manage each group session so each dog and handler receives sufficient coaching time. We are also careful to ensure that reactive dogs are not brought into sessions where they may disrupt the learning of other dogs and handlers.
Our group sessions are by booking only to ensure restrictions on numbers for the best training experience possible.

TRAINING DAYS FOR GROUPS AND CLUBS
I have worked with many clubs/societies, and individuals, across the country to deliver training days in their own area. These days offer a full-day workshop encompassing a presentation about show dogs, showing, show ring attitude, and handler psychology. This is followed by practical sessions with handlers and their own dogs to allow them to focus on individual problems or areas they wish to work on. I have run successful days like these across the country in England, Scotland and Northern and Southern Ireland, and have all been very well received with candidates and host clubs alike.
